District Convention-2008

This year's District Convention was exceptional-as they always are. Ours was held June13-15, and I have graciously put off updating my blog so as not to upset all of you who wanted to be surprised by what the new releases would be....Okay, maybe I've just been lazy...but, you've got to admit that IS a pretty good excuse.

The theme this year was "Guided By God's Spirit." The program analyzed God's spirit throughout the scriptures, showed how it can help us in our lives and ministry, and showed how we can cultivate it's fruitages (Gal.5:22-23). We received two new releases: "Keep Yourselves in God's Love" -a book that helps us in observing God's commandments by following God's moral standards and other valued virtues, and "Questions Young People Ask...Answers That Work-Vol. II"-a book that uses the Bible to help young people successfully meet the challenges they face these days. At our specific Convention we had a peak attendance of 9090, and had 57 baptized. We had a total of nine 3-day Conventions in our area alone(Northern California). It was a very upbuilding and informative 3 days.
